Make a “Wanted” poster to have on hand in case your dog gets lost
Here’s what you’ll need
Poster paper or construction paper
Crayons or Markers
A photo of your dog
Here’s what you do
On the paper make a heading in large letters. It can say “Lost Dog Please Help Me Get Home”.
Below that put your dog’s photo and name.
You can also put your name, your address, your phone number and anything else that would help identify him, like the color of his collar. Get an adult to help you be creative.
Hang the lost dog poster in your room so it’s handy if you ever need it. It will remind you how important it is to CLOSE EVERY GATE EVERY TIME, keep his identification on him, walk him with a leash, and keep him safe during fireworks, thunderstorms, and other loud noises.

Build a Thunder Fort
July is a fun time for fireworks and summer storms with thunder. Loud bangs can frighten your dog. Nobody likes to be frightened. Here are some things to do to help your dog not be afraid. If you go to the fireworks, leave your dog at home with an adult. Make his crate into a Fort for him. Put a blanket over it. The blanket will help him not hear the noise. You can put toys or chew things in his crate to keep him busy during the fireworks. Put on music in the room to drown out the big bang sounds and make him feel calm. There is a shirt called a thunder shirt your parents can buy for him. If not, you can put a t-shirt on him and tie it to feel like a big hug. Do not act afraid. If he senses you are scared, he will be afraid as well. Have fun building your fort for your dog.

Use Your Noodle to Make a Ruff Rider Obstacle Course
July is the time to have fun making a pool noodle obstacle course. Watch the video on how you and your family can make your own obstacle course out of pool noodles! After you build it, then see if you and your dog can do all the obstacles. Be patient when teaching your dog to do jumps and weaves. It takes time to learn. Invite your friends over and have fun doing relay races with your dogs.You will need:
Pool Noodles
PVC Pipe and Elbows
Rubber Bands
Cones
A Light Weight Tarp or Blanket for the Tunnel

Stay Cool Pool
Did you know dogs do not sweat? Dogs get cooled down when their belly gets cool. It’s good to have a baby pool to keep your dog cool on hot summer days so he doesn’t get overheated and sick. Set up a baby pool with a small amount of water and put some floating toys in it. It’s a nice addition to your obstacle course. Make it a game. Run the course and end in the pool. It’s the cool thing to do.
